About Easton Mountain

What is Easton Mountain?

Easton Mountain is a retreat center located on 175 acres in Greenwich, New York, in the foothills of the Hudson Valley. It serves the GBTQ men’s community — gay, bisexual, trans, and queer men — as a space for personal growth, connection, and community.

Easton runs roughly 20 retreat events per year, each typically featuring around 25 workshops led by multiple facilitators. Programming spans a wide range — from spiritual and men’s work to creative, somatic, and community-focused retreats. Events draw men who are looking for something deeper than a typical vacation: a place to drop their guard, do meaningful inner work, and connect authentically with other men.

The residential nature of the experience — guests sleeping, eating, and gathering together on the same campus for the duration of a retreat — is central to what makes it work. Extended time in community with the same group of people creates conditions for connection and friendship that don’t happen in daily life.

Community

Is This For Me?

Is Easton Mountain only for gay men?

Easton Mountain is a retreat center created for and by the GBTQ men’s community — gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer men. If you identify as a man and as part of that broader community, you belong here. Easton doesn’t police identity or require anyone to check a box. What matters is that you’re drawn to a space intentionally designed around the experiences, growth, and connection of queer men.

What if I don’t really consider myself a “bear”? Can I still come?

Yes. While some events are themed around the bear community, all men are welcome regardless of how you identify — cub, otter, bear admirer, twink, or no category at all. You will be welcomed no matter who you are.

Can I just stay for a night or two?

Easton is built around specific programs, but there are times when short overnight stays can be accommodated between retreats. Not all events appear on the website calendar, as some are rentals to outside groups. If you’re interested in a short stay, reach out to our front desk at info@eastonmountain.org.

The Experience

What To Expect

Is this a sexual retreat?

No. Easton Mountain is a personal growth and community retreat center, not a sex venue. Programming focuses on embodiment, spirituality, creativity, leadership, grief work, connection, and healing — depending on the specific retreat.

That said, Easton is a sex-positive environment, meaning sexuality is treated as a natural and dignified part of human life rather than something to be avoided or shamed. Some retreats include programming that touches on sexuality and intimacy, and some areas of the campus are designed for adult connection. In all cases, consent, respect, and clear communication are the pillars we uphold. What’s appropriate for each program is always communicated clearly in advance.

I’ve never done anything like this. What should I expect?

Most people who come to Easton for the first time arrive not knowing what to expect — and leave saying it was one of the most meaningful experiences of their lives. You don’t need prior experience with retreats, therapy, or any particular spiritual practice.

You’ll find a structured daily schedule with sessions, meals, and free time. You’ll be with a group of men who are showing up for themselves, which tends to create an atmosphere of unusual openness and kindness. The most common first-timer experience is wishing they’d come sooner.

Can I come alone? Will I know anyone?

Most attendees come alone. Easton is specifically designed for that — the programming builds connection from the ground up, so arriving solo is the norm rather than the exception. You won’t be expected to already know people or to perform social ease. The structure does that work for you.

What’s the difference between retreats? How do I choose?

Each retreat at Easton has a distinct theme, group of facilitators, and community focus. Some are oriented around grief and healing, others around embodiment, creativity, sexuality and intimacy, leadership, or spiritual practice.

The best way to choose is to read the full event description and notice which one feels like it’s speaking to something alive in you right now. If you’re genuinely uncertain, reaching out to Easton directly is always welcome.

Registration

Cost & Registration

What’s included in the cost?

Your retreat fee covers lodging, all meals, and full participation in the retreat program. Easton is a residential community during each retreat — your days are held in one place, and you don’t need to arrange for food or transportation once you’ve arrived. Specific pricing varies by retreat and room type; see individual event pages for details.

Are scholarships available?

Yes. Easton Mountain offers scholarship assistance for people for whom cost would otherwise be a barrier. Easton’s view is that financial circumstances shouldn’t determine who has access to transformative community. Learn more about scholarships and how to apply →

How do installment plans work?

Payments can be spread out over time for any retreat. Installments are withdrawn monthly; the amount and number of payments depend on your signup date. To qualify, you must register at least 37 days before your program starts. A $200 non-refundable deposit is due at registration as your first payment, with the next payment due one month later. If you’d like to pay off your balance early, contact our front desk.

We accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. To pay by check or American Express, please contact us directly. Standard cancellation policy applies to all installment registrations.

What is Easton’s cancellation policy?

When you register, full payment or a $200 deposit is required. The deposit is non-refundable. Your remaining balance is due 14 days before the event.

If you cancel more than 14 days before the event, you will receive a credit toward a future visit (valid for one year) for any amount paid beyond the deposit. If you cancel 14 days or fewer before the event, no refunds or credits will be issued.

In the unlikely event that Easton Mountain must cancel a program, we are not responsible for reimbursing travel costs such as airline or train tickets. To cancel or ask questions, call (518) 692-8023 or email info@eastonmountain.org.
